I cannot believe it is March already...this year is flying by! I am so ready for spring weather though, as I'm sure everyone else is as well. Can you believe how cold it has been? We did not get any snow this year, but I am really okay with that. When it snowed in December it killed all of our flowers and flowering bushes. I am not looking forward to replacing those! Seriously, I think the area of our house that has received the most attention is the flower bed. The irony is that it is actually a really small flower bed. I made the decision a few months after moving in that I was going to uproot everything and start over. When we moved here it had this monkey grass like plant that grew out of control. (I don't really know why I am blogging AGAIN about my plants.) I uprooted it and we planted new stuff, palms, crotons, etc. Then Ike visited. We replanted. Then we got snow. We replanted. Then we got snow AGAIN! What are the chances??
Because of this I will be spending some beautiful weekends at Lowes and the wonderful Houston Garden Center picking out just the right plant, and then the rest of the weekend debating whether to plant it all myself or hire someone to do it. I have had good experiences with both...however, hiring someone to do it saves on so much frustration, which is sometimes worth the cost.
Do any of y'all have a plant that you can depend on, through all seasons, to stay alive, look good, and grow?
