Dashing through the pumpkin field...

It is pumpkin season!!!! WOOHOO!!! I love pumpkins! We start lessons on pumpkins next week at school. So exciting! We are going to be measuring them, graphing them, weighing them, and doing addition and subtraction with them somehow. Exciting, right?

One thing about being in a first grade classroom is that I have to learn cute little poems and songs to sing with the kids. Hence the title of the poem. I started to memorize the Dashing through a pumpkin field song before I left school on Friday, and I am sad to admit that I only remember the first line. And yes, it is sung to the tune of Dashing through the snow. Don't be jealous! As most of you know, I went to private school until 9th grade, and the songs I remember are cute little Bible story songs. I don't remember songs about pumpkins, apples, Columbus, etc. Anyone have some cute ones for me?

Mike and I are going to go get our pumpkin today. The Methodist church up the road has a patch that we are going to visit. Mike is overjoyed.

I so love this time of year! I just really wish the weather reflected the season. I want cool weather! I want to wear a long-sleeved shirt! I want to wear a jacket! I want to wear boots and gloves! Bring on the cool!

So we have lived in our house now for about 18 months, and do you want to know how many rooms I feel have been successfully and completely decorated? Zero. Zilch. None. Nada. How depressing! I am in a rut! I don't know what to do with my junk, I can't decide on a paint color, and I have no storage. So today, after getting our pumpkin, we are headed to Lowes and Target to get our organization process started. It will be such a relief! I hate the mad dash to get everything organized when guests come to town. Does anyone know what I am talking about? How nice would it be to just have to clean bathrooms and straighten up instead of overhauling the house? So nice.

I recognize that this post has been 100% pure rambling, but as Mike is playing play station what else am I to do??

we have house guests on the agenda for the end of this month. whoa nelly. please! someone, let the motivation rip.

wish i lived closer - i could help you organize...it's something that makes my soul happy :)

Bekah! I wish we lived right next door to each other because apparently our Mike's our two peas in a pod! Aren't we lucky gals? I wish, oh how I wish, I had the organizer gene, but I was born without it. Do you have tips you would like to share?? Basically my whole house needs to be touched by the organization fairy!
