Good morning, friends! Mike woke up not feeling too well so we didn't make it to church. So can I be completely honest with you all? Mike and I have not had a stellar track record of church attendance in our three years of marriage. It has not always been for lack of trying, because we have visited several churches. It is so frustrating at times that it makes the search seem so futile. Are we too picky? Perhaps. One thing we now firmly agree with and believe in is that we just cannot not go....tongue twister! We have to go to church! We have to put aside the frustrations and keep trying! So we have been visiting various churches around Deer Park for the past several months, and we are going to keep visiting until we find the one that fits us best. We don't feel like we want too much! We want a church that teaches the Word! I want to open my Bible in church. You would be amazed at the number of churches we have been to that we haven't even heard a scripture reference. Sad. I also want a church that has opportunities for involvement. I want us to join a small group and make some friends. We might be in Deer Park for a very long time, and it might be nice to have some relationships in the area.
Anyway, does anyone else have church finding issues? Should we just put aside our desires and get plugged in at the closest location? Thoughts?

here here! we too are on the church hunt :) it is such a challenge to not only find one YOU like, but find one that you BOTH like!
teaching the word is a must - it's not too much to ask :) hang in there, friend. you'll find a good fit...sometimes these things just take a little time.
kudos for the new found self accountability - it's the first and hardest step :)
