Quick Update

I cannot believe I have let over a month go by without updating this blog. I am so ashamed! I go through blog-withdraw when one of the blogs I follow takes forever to update, and I have done this to my own blog. So sorry :(. I have so many things to talk about! This is only a quick update though, and I will get back here soon, I promise!

On August 24th I started my 12 week internship with Deer Park Elementary. This internship will complete the Texas certification process, and as of November 17th I will be completely certified! So I will be paid at least $10 more to sub! Success! I have a 1st grade class that I adore. The kids are so precious....even though we do have a few that only their mother can love! I think every class has those though. Kids are so funny at this stage. They are still at the age that they want to please you, everything you do is great, and they generally respond to redirection. Generally. Again there are those few. I never thought I would like 1st grade....surprise, surprise. I am still dealing with the reality that I have a MBA and may never use it professionally again. I don't know how I feel about that. Originally my plan was to teach high school business and then transition to community college. My goal was to teach at a community college. That was my ultimate, end all to end all career searches, finally found my way goal. Now that I like 1st grade, I am just not sure. I am definitely looking into other advanced degrees in education, diagnostician, reading, speech, etc., but I am just not sure right now that is the way for me. Or am I just afraid to let go of the time, effort, and money put into my previous career? Also, is it embarrassing that I can have a second career at the age of 28??

Oh my goodness. Let's discuss this 'age of 28' thing! SAY WHAT???? When did I become this old??? When and why did this happen to me??? Sometimes I just wish I could slow things down or go back in time a few years. But that is not how life works, now is it? Mike turns 28 tomorrow and I will turn 28 in November. Upper twenties. Late twenties. Two years shy of 30. A new decade around the corner. Almost able to say "in my 20's".

On a happy note, I am an aunt again! Diane gave birth to my beautiful niece Margaret Ryleigh Moyer, a.k.a. Maggie. She is so beautiful! Absolutely perfect! And I will post precious pictures as soon as I can relocate the USB cord. I find it, I lose it. I find it, I lose it. Vicious cycle. Cool thing?? She was born 09/09/09. How cool is that??

Another happy note?? It is almost time for fall decorations! There is nothing I love more then being able to bring out a new season's decorations. Oh I how love fall decor! Pumpkins, candles, pilgrims, leaves, purple, orange, green....oh the colors of fall! Love them! These items will stay up for a brief period of time before I am able to bring out the Christmas decorations!!! I get so excited about this time of year that I may have already started my Christmas shopping. Pathetic, much?? Please say no, please say no, please say no!

So....confession time. I HATE being in pictures. I am the least photogenic person I know. I take horrible pictures. My smile is always goofy, my hair is always messed up, my two chins double to four, etc. However, I have decided to let it go. Lately it seems like there have been several untimely deaths involving people at or around my age, and because only God knows the number of days we have here on earth, I want to document our lives so we always have a memory of us. I would hate for something to happen to Mike or me and leave one of us without any hard copy memories! So be prepared to see many funny-looking smiles, hairs out of place, rolls in unfortunate places, etc.

Well, it is time to end this 'quick' update. I will be back shortly with funny stories about my kids, pictures of my niece and nephew, and proof of my un-photogenic-ness (yes, I know that is not a word).

i feel SO GREAT about the fact that you posted such a great update. three cheers! it always brightens my day when i get a new bergeron experience.

first of all, congrats on the new niece. nieces and nephews are the BEST! aren't they so fun to squeeze and love and spoil?

second of all, so glad you're enjoying teaching! i too can't wait to sub - soon we can swap stories.

third of all, i am so happy you are taking the camera by storm! way to go, lady! we all have rolls in unfortunate places and things on our faces we'd rather not let see the light of day. but alas, we are human. and let's face it, it's just not economical to have a hair and makeup crew every morning...or any morning.

have a GREAT week and way to go with the blog-a-licious update. we want more! we want more!
